Ramdhura: A Offbeat Tourist Place in Kalimpong
Ramdhura, a small quiet village in the division of Kalimpong, very soon it has won the hearts of tourists because the location of this place is very good. The place is famous for the panoramic view of Kanchenjunga covered with white ice.
The pure beauty of Kalimpong can be enjoyed from this place, avoiding the crowds. Deep forest at the bottom of this place. The Teesta flows through this valley. And Kanchenjunga is visible from any end of this place.
Ramdhura, located at an elevation of 5000 feet, is located at a distance of 15 km from the town of Kalimpong. This village is very close to Echhe Gaon. The Distance from Ramdhura to Echhe Gaon is only 2 kilometers.
The name of Ramdhura is the combination of two words one is Ram and another is Dhura. Ram comes from Ramayana and Dhura means village.
How to reach Ramdhura
The nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) which is 86 km away and the nearest airport is Bagdogra Airport which is 90 km away from Ramdhura.
There is no direct bus service to this place. Visitors can take a bus from NJP to Kalimpong and from Kalimpong they have to rent a cab for Ramdhura. Otherwise, a direct cab can be booked from NJP station to Ramdhura.
Best Time to Visit Ramdhura
The mountains can be enjoyed in different ways at different times so you can come here at any time except the rainy season. However, the best time to visit this place is from October to January, when the sky is clear so Kanchenjunga can be seen clearly. Moreover, to get relief from the heat of the city, tourists come from April to May.

Golf Garden:- There is a beautiful Golf Garden just before Delo Park from where you can take a beautiful view.
Jalsa Bungalow:-Jalsa Bungalow is a tourist destination located at Upper Monsong, just 3 Kilometers from Ramdhura. It was built by the British in the early 1920s. From here the whole range of the Teesta river and Kanchenjunga can be seen very clearly.
Echhe gaon:- Ichchegaon is very close to this place. You can reach Ichchegaon by trekking as the distance between these places is only 2 kilometers.
Sillary Gaon:- The distance from Ramdhura to Sillary Gaon is only 14 km. Sillary Gaon is a small village full of natural beauty.
