The garden is located at an altitude of 5000 feet above sea level near Sukhiya Pokhri in the Darjeeling district. Beautiful tea gardens, beautiful people, variety of birds are waiting for you.
Far from madding crowd, here you can enjoy the majestic view of Kanchenjunga with Tea Garden.
Mim Tea Garden was established in 1800. This tea garden was looked at by a British woman during British rule. Everyone called that British woman Memsab. The name ‘MIM’ comes from the word ‘MEM’.
This is the only tea garden in Darjeeling managed by Andrew Yule Company, Government of India.
How to Reach
Via Ghoom, turn left at Sukhiyapokhari from Ghum Railway Station. There is a signboard of Mim Tea Estate right in front of Sukhiyapokhari BPCL Petrol Pump. Turn right from there.
Via Mirik, go from Sukhiyapokhari Bazaar to Sukhiyapokhari BPCL Petrol Pump. Mim Tea Estate is given a signboard after crossing the petrol pump. Follow that signboard and turn left.
You can rent a cab directly to the Mim Tea Garden. Tariff is around 3000-3500 rupees.
Best time to visit
There is no set time to visit the mountains. But October to February is a good time to see the clear skies and Kanchenjunga.
During the rainy season, the tea garden becomes greener and you can come here in summer to escape the heat of the city.

Sukhiyapokhri– It is another popular tourist destination, just 5 kilometers away from Mim Tea Garden.
Lepcahjagat– This place is located at a distance of only 7 km from Mim Garden. It is a very popular and nearby tourist destination from Mim Garden.
Darjeeling– Mim Tea Garden is only 20 kilometers away from Darjeeling, so you can easily visit this place from this Tea Estate.
Manebhanjan– This place is called the gateway of Sandakphu Trekking and It is located just 12 km from this Tea Garden.
