The story behind the name

The Khola river flows through this village. The water of this Khola river is locally known as Dawaipani which means “Medicated Water“. There is a beautiful story behind the name Dawaipani.

A colonel was working in the tea garden of this village during British rule. There was a wound on the colonel’s leg and the wound was not healing at all.

One day the colonel crossed a river in this village on foot. From then on, the wound of his leg began to heal. Seeing that, he sent the water of the river to the laboratory for testing and found that there were a lot of minerals in the water of the river which started healing the wound of his leg.
